December 5 – February 13, 2022
“I have curated this art show based on the beauty and pain we see in the world. Four amazing artists have created works reflecting life’s transitory nature,” said Ellen Speert, co-owner of PHES Gallery and curator of Impermanence. In the words of philosopher Francis Bacon, “We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand-and melting like a snowflake.”
For four days, the Tibetan Buddhist monks of Gaden Shartse Monastery in Southern India will be at PHES for a Dharma talk and the creation (and dissolution) of a Sacred Sand Mandala for the Buddha of Compassion. The public is invited to watch this beautiful, meditative process.
